Kampoah Isla Cristina at Camping Giralda

I’m not a huge fan of camping, ok I will be honest, I’m not a huge fan of like the outside. I don’t like bugs and getting dirty. I used to go camping when I was a kid with my family, but I always hated it. When glamping became a trend, I thought maybe I would be down to do that. I looked at a few places in Utah back when I lived in Vegas, but they were so expensive. Like $300+ a night. If i’m going to spend that much money, I’ll take an all-inclusive or a resort or something. So I never went. Well my friend asked if I wanted to go to a place in Spain, so since I am trying to be more adventurous and I am loving exploring everything around me, I said yes.

Kampoah Isla Cristina is part of the Camping Giralda area in Isla Cristina, near Huelva. It’s only about an hour away from Tavira. It’s a huge campground with a ton of stuff to do. We got the Iamu private tent with a private bathroom. The tent had 2 beds, an air conditioner, a mini fridge, and a cooler. It also had some dishes, lamps and outlets. It even had a heater that could be used in the colder months. Outside of the tent was a picnic table and 2 lounge chairs. The bathroom was its own little area with a  rainfall shower and toilet inside and a sink and mirror outside. It was really cute and basically just like a hotel room. The price was €75 per night.

The campground had a lot of stuff to do. First off, it’s across the street from the beach so it’s a great location. Within the grounds there is also plenty to do. There is a playground and an adventure zone for kids. There was a climbing wall, a pool, and a sports complex with archery. There are also canoes that you can rent. Additionally there was a small store with plenty of food options as well as necessities, which was great because I forgot to pack soap lol. In addition to the glamping tents, there are spaces for regular camping and RVs to park so there were also shower areas and even laundry facilities. The map said there was a restaurant and bar but I never saw it.

I spent 1 night there and it was nice. The bed was decently comfortable, way better than the floor with regular camping. I felt very safe, the tent had a lock on it. It was all very clean too. It was a nice little break. The only downside was the tents next to us had a bunch of kids that ran around screaming until 1am and started up again at 7am. But overall it was a fun experience, way better than camping as a kid and I never even got dirty.

Blue Moscato I bought at the grocery store nearby. It tasted like being 18 and making bad decisions. Don’t try it! 🤣
