Am I the only person that loves to go to new grocery stores, especially in other countries? I love looking at what is available and different, I always go to a grocery store when I travel, lol. Wanna see what grocery stores are like and what foods cost here? Here a is what grocery shopping is like in Tavira. Check out the prices on the pics, most things are much more affordable. I posted a reel on my insta with even more but here are some pics.

Milk, creams, and eggs are never refrigerated here.

This is just a small view of the amount of cheeses, chocolates, and chips.

The fresh bakery section is much bigger, they have so many fresh breads every day. And YES, we do have peanut butter!

The wine and beer aisle has many more choices. But look at the prices! Portugal has 14 wine regions and there are incredible wines here! They are so much more affordable than anything in the US, and they are amazing!!!!! Also, beer is really affordable too. In many restaurants, it’s actually cheaper than buying a carafe of water.

My Haul

We have a much smaller fridge and a tiny freezer here so we are only able to buy a certain amount at a time. This was my last grocery haul. We go grocery shopping on average about every 4 days. Each trip averages about €55-65. This trip contained a typical haul with a couple extras.

€67,45 euros.

We shop at a few different stores. There are some things that are only available at certain places so we jump around between them depending on what we need. We cook lunch and dinner at home almost every night. Our typical grocery cost is less than €500 a month. My husband eat a lot though 🤣

It has been over a year since I have been to a grocery store in the U.S., so how does it compare to your costs? Oh and I didn’t buy eggs this trip but a case of 2 dozen costs about €4.
