Book your own New Mexico vacation here
Welcome back to my series on my first trip back to America since moving abroad! As I mentioned in my earlier post, I planned my visit to coincide with one of my cousins’ weddings so that I could catch up with more of my family members.
My cousin chose to have her wedding at Casas de Sueños Bed & Breakfast (which translates to “Houses of Dreams”) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Casas de Sueños is located near Old Town Albuquerque, a historic area rich with culture and charm. Although I’ve visited Albuquerque many times throughout my life, I had somehow never explored Old Town, so I was particularly excited to check it out.

Casas de Sueños Bed & Breakfast Albuquerque
From the moment you enter Casas de Sueños, you’re enveloped in traditional New Mexican charm. The state has a rich culture, heavily influenced by the large Indigenous American population that has lived here for over 2,500 years. New Mexico is home to 22 tribes, which play an essential role in the region’s culture, art, history, and daily life. The B&B itself is built in the traditional pueblo style, which immediately immerses you in the local heritage.
The main lobby area, where you check in, also offers a complimentary full breakfast every day. Scattered throughout the property are multiple private casitas in various sizes. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, with gardens, a large lawn with a gazebo, and a private hot tub area reserved for guests 21 and older. The property is peaceful and serene, adorned with beautiful art pieces that reflect the local culture. Everywhere you look, there’s attention to detail, and the care put into maintaining the B&B is evident.

Casitas
Each casita is uniquely named and has a private patio, offering everything from studios to one- and two-bedroom units, with some even featuring private hot tubs.
We stayed in a two-bedroom casita, and it was far more spacious than expected.
Inside the Casita
Our casita included a full kitchen, a comfortable living area, dining space, and well-sized bedrooms. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and clearly designed for guests who might stay more than a night or two.
The space felt functional without being sterile, which made it easy to relax and feel at home.
Private Outdoor Space
Each casita includes a private patio, which adds another layer of comfort and privacy. Having an outdoor space of our own was especially nice in the mornings and evenings.

Hot Tubs and Quiet Relaxation
One of the standout features of Casas de Sueños Bed & Breakfast Albuquerque is the availability of hot tubs.
Some casitas include private hot tubs, and there is also a shared hot tub area available to guests over twenty-one years old. The area is quiet and well-maintained, making it easy to unwind after a long day.
This feature felt thoughtful rather than flashy and added real value to the stay.
A Unique Wedding Venue
During our stay, Casas de Sueños also served as the venue for a family wedding, which showed just how versatile the property can be.
Outdoor Ceremony Space
The ceremony took place on the lawn near the gazebo, surrounded by gardens and adobe buildings. The setting felt intimate and meaningful rather than staged.
Convenience for Guests
Having both accommodations and event space in one location made the entire experience smoother for everyone involved.
Breakfast Experience: Simple and Satisfying
Breakfast is included with every stay and is served daily.
Guests can expect a mix of made-to-order hot breakfasts along with lighter options such as fruit, yogurt, cereal, coffee, and tea. The breakfast hours allow flexibility while still keeping things organized.
It is not overdone or overly formal, but it is filling, comforting, and a nice way to start the day.
Location: Steps from Historic Old Town Albuquerque
One of the biggest strengths of Casas de Sueños is its location.
Easy Walk to Old Town
Old Town Albuquerque is just a short walk away and offers museums, historic buildings, local shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. Being able to walk there instead of driving made our stay far more relaxed.
Convenient Access to the City
Despite the quiet setting, the property is close to downtown Albuquerque, Route 66 attractions, and major roads. It is easy to explore the city while still returning to a peaceful place at the end of the day.

Who Casas de Sueños Is Best For
This bed and breakfast is especially well-suited for couples, travelers who enjoy historic properties, visitors who want to explore Old Town Albuquerque, wedding guests, and those who prefer unique accommodations over large hotels.
It may not be the best fit for travelers seeking nightlife-focused locations or large resort-style amenities.
